Under the new GDPR Data Protection Laws of 2018, all Snaxchange Users have the following rights:
- The right to access provides users with complete transparency in data processing and storage – what data points are being collected, where are these data points being processed and stored, and the reason behind the collection, processing and storage of the data. Users will also have to be provided a copy of their data free of cost within 40 days.
- The right to be forgotten gives users an option to erase personal data and stop further collection and processing of the data. This process involves the user withdrawing consent for their personal data to be used.
- The data portability clause of the GDPR provides users a right to download their personal data, for which they have previously given consent, and further transmit that data to a different controller.
Thus, a Snaxchange User can request Snaxchange Ltd. to provide information on what data points have been collected for the User, request to delete collected data stored along with deletion of account or request for data to be transmitted to a different data controller. All requests need to be sent to info@Snaxchange.com. Such requests will usually receive a response within 5-10 working days.
Please note that by agreeing to be a Snaxchange User, you will allow Snaxchange to share your data points collected with other users as needed for completing an online trade or transaction (buy/sell products).
Please also note that your data points will not be visible to Snaxchange registered users. Only your name will be visible for the purpose of buying products from a Seller selling or donating products on Snaxchange.
Your Selling or Donation details will only be shared with a buyer once a transaction has been made. The details will be shared via a secure email or encrypted WhatsApp communication.

This User Agreement, the Snaxchange User Privacy Notice, the Mobile Device Terms, and all policies posted on our sites set out the terms on which Snaxchange offers you access to and use of our sites, services, applications and tools (collectively known as ‘Services’). About Snaxchange
Snaxchange is a marketplace that allows users to exchange food items or beverages purchased or obtained as donations from Superstores and Newsagents with willing users willing to take them ahead of the ‘best before’ date or period.
Snaxchange does not hold possession of anything listed or sold through Snaxchange and is not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and Sellers or Donors. The contract for the sale is directly between buyer and Sellers or Donors. Snaxchange is not an agent, contractor, distributor or auctioneer, neither does it hold any right/ lien or charge over such goods as it is not the owner/distributor of the said goods in any capacity
While we may provide pricing, listing, and other guidance in our Services, such guidance is solely informational, and you may decide to follow it or not. Snaxchange does not review users' listings or content. While we may help facilitate the resolution of disputes through various programs, Snaxchange has no control over and does not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised; the truth or accuracy of users’ content, listings or feedback; the ability of Sellers or Donors to sell items; the ability of buyers to pay for items; or that a buyer or Sellers or Donors will complete a transaction or return an item.
Under the Snaxchange Easy pay and return Guarantee, if a Sellers or Donors chooses or is required to reimburse the buyer or Snaxchange because a case is resolved in the buyer's favour, we may:
- Remove funds from the Sellers or Donors’ PayPal account, or any other respective mode of payment used, to reimburse the buyer for the cost of the item following the Sellers or Donors’ authorization provided to us under this User Agreement; or
- Where there are insufficient funds in the Sellers or Donors’ PayPal account, directly refund the buyer for the cost of the item, and, in this case, the Sellers or Donors must reimburse us in full, and promptly, for an amount equivalent to the sum we paid to the buyer. Snaxchange will not be responsible for the flow of funds from the Sellers or Donors to the buyer in case the same is not refunded in due course.
Sellers or Donors must have a valid payment method on file with Snaxchange always. Where the Sellers or Donors is found at fault, we will notify the Sellers or Donors and charge the reimbursement amount to the Sellers or Donors’ chosen method of payment or intimate the Sellers or Donors about the reimbursement amount through appropriate communication.
Please also note that transaction charges (if applicable) will not be reimbursed unless in specific cases where the Snaxchange team decides so in favour of the buyer or certain cases, Sellers, or Donors. The discretion for reimbursement of charges rests loosely with Snaxchange

- We think that you are creating problems or possible legal liabilities;
- We think that such restrictions will improve the security of the Snaxchange community or reduce our or another Snaxchange user's exposure to financial liabilities;
- We think that you are infringing the rights of third parties;
- We think that you are acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of this User Agreement or our policies or abuse our employees or users;
- Despite our reasonable endeavours, we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us; or
- You fail to make full or part payment of any fees due for our Services, or any amount due to any Sellers or Donors by your payment due date.
When a buyer or Sellers or Donor issue arises, we may consider the user's performance history and the specific circumstances in applying our policies. We may act diligently for policy enforcement, and to do the needful as deemed in the interest of the buyers, Sellers or Donors and Snaxchange Ltd. The same may have a bearing on our policy enforcement
Fees
The fees we charge for using our Services are listed on our Sellers or Donors fees page. We may change our fees or introduce new fees from time to time by posting the changes on the Snaxchange site. You may close your account without penalty within 30 days of such notice being given.
You are required to have a payment method on file when selling on Snaxchange. If your payment method fails or your account is overdue, we may collect fees owed by charging other payment methods on file and retaining collection agencies or legal counsel-
Listing Conditions
When listing an item, you agree to comply with the rules for listing and selling practices policy and that:
- You are responsible for the accuracy, content, and legality of the item listed and agree to list following the prohibited and restricted Items policy;
- Any listing will be available for 30 days only, beyond which, the post will be removed, and the items will need to be reposted for sale;
- Content that violates any of Snaxchange's policies may be deleted at Snaxchange's discretion;
- Where your listing appears in search and browse results may be based on certain factors such as listing format, title, end time, keywords, price, Feedback, Snaxchange policy compliance, and detailed Sellers or Donors ratings. Learn more about finding an item you listed for sale;
- Snaxchange's duplicate listing policy may also affect whether your listing appears in search results;
- Meta-tags and URL links that are included in a listing will be removed or altered to not affect third-party search engine results;
- We may provide you with optional recommendations to consider when creating your listings. Such recommendations may be based on the aggregated sales and performance history of similar sold and current listings; results will vary for individual listings. To drive the recommendations experience, you agree that we may display the sales and performance history of your listings to other Sellers or Donors;
- Some optional upgrade features will only be visible on certain Snaxchange Services.
Accordingly, to drive a positive user experience, a listing may not appear in some search and browse results regardless of the sort order chosen by the buyer.
Purchase Conditions
When buying an item, you agree to comply with the rules for buyers and that:
- you are responsible for reading the full item listing before making a request or commitment to buy;
- you enter into a legally binding contract to purchase an item when you commit to buy an item;
- you are entitled to pay the entire transaction amount upon successful commitment to buy an item;
Content
When providing us with content (including causing content to be posted using our Services), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual (or for the duration of any copyright or other rights in such content), irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable (through multiple tiers) right to use the content (including without limitation, creating and using derivative works) Further, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, you waive your moral rights in the content and promise not to assert such rights or any other intellectual property rights you have in the content against us, our sub-licensees or our assignees.
Restricting Funds
To protect against the risk of liability, Snaxchange may recommend, that PayPal restrict access to funds in a Sellers or Donors’ PayPal (or any other payment gateway) account based on certain factors, including, but not limited to, selling history, Sellers or Donors performance, returns, riskiness of the listing category, transaction value or the filing of a case. This may result in PayPal determining to restrict funds in your PayPal account.
Additional Terms
Returns
The transaction can be completed, and the payment is released to the Sellers or Donors only when the buyer has checked the items against the posted description, appearance, quality and quantity, and ‘Best Before’ date. Transaction can be cancelled in case the item does not resemble the posted description in quality, quantity appearance, or any other factor.
Sellers or Donors can create rules to automate returns and refunds under certain circumstances. For all new Sellers or Donors, Snaxchange may set a default rule that automates the return process for some or all listings where returns are accepted. Sellers or Donors may remove or customize their returns preferences in their account settings. You agree to comply with our returns policies.
When an item is returned, to refund the buyer, you authorise Snaxchange to request PayPal to reverse the refund amount from your PayPal account, and place the amount on your Sellers or Donors invoice as a fee (which may be charged to your automatic payment method on file).
When a transaction is cancelled, and you choose to refund the buyer via Snaxchange, you authorize Snaxchange to request PayPal to reverse the refund amount (in the same or other currency) from the Sellers or Donors’ PayPal account to the buyer. See our Cancellation Policy for more details.
Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee / Grievance Redressal
Most Snaxchange sales follow the generic business model, but if there’s a problem with a purchase, the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee helps buyers and Sellers, or Donors communicate and resolve issues. The Snaxchange Easy Pay and Return Guarantee policy is part of this User Agreement and incorporated by reference. You agree to comply with the policy and permit us to make a final decision on any case.
Sellers or Donors must have a payment method on file with Snaxchange. Sellers or Donors may change this payment method by contacting Snaxchange. If we resolve a case in the buyer's favour, or if a Sellers or Donor chooses to reimburse a buyer, Snaxchange may notify PayPal of the relevant case and remove funds from the Sellers or Donors’ PayPal account to reimburse the buyer for the full cost of the item. Where there are insufficient funds in the Sellers or Donors’ PayPal account, we will directly refund the buyer and charge the Sellers or Donors’ designated payment method or put the amount on the Sellers or Donors’ invoice. The sole discretion to resolve a case rest with Snaxchange
For this purpose, you, in the capacity of a Sellers or Donors:
- Authorize and instruct us to request PayPal to collect or reverse variable amounts from your PayPal account to carry out a buyer reimbursement;
- Authorize and instruct us to request PayPal to collect or reverse variable amounts in other currency holdings (representing payments related to eligible claims) from your PayPal account to carry out a buyer reimbursement where you do not have enough funds available in the transaction currency;
- Authorize and instruct us to request PayPal to restrict your access to funds (the restriction will apply up to a sum equivalent to the cost of the item paid by the buyer) in your PayPal account at any point during the resolution process. (This may result in PayPal determining to restrict funds in your PayPal account to manage PayPal's risk exposure according to PayPal policies. See Restricting funds.);
- Authorize and instruct us to charge the payment method you select to recover the amount we pay to the buyer (in cases where we refund the buyer directly); and
- Authorize and instruct us to place the reimbursement amount on the Sellers or Donors invoice.
- You acknowledge and agree that your authorizations above will be made repeatedly and on various dates as required by us to implement the terms of the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee policy. For future claims, where we resolve a dispute in the buyer's favour, we will notify the Sellers or Donors and continue to charge the Sellers or Donors' preferred method of payment. If Sellers or Donors do not provide Snaxchange with a valid reimbursement method, we may collect the outstanding sums using other collection mechanisms, including retaining collection agencies. We may suspend the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee policy without notice if we suspect abuse or interference with the proper working of the policy.
Correcting mistakes in payments to buyers and Sellers or Donors
We reserve the right to fix any processing errors we discover. We will correct any processing errors by debiting or crediting the payment method used for the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee refund or reimbursement.
Delivery options
We may add certain delivery options to your listings, to help improve buyer experience.

- your need to modify practices, content, or behaviour or your loss of or inability to do business, as a result of changes to this User Agreement or our policies.
- Any other act which may be beyond the control of Snaxchange or the User
Some jurisdictions do not allow the disclaimer of warranties or exclusion of damages, so such disclaimers and exclusions may not apply to you. This is especially so if you are a consumer.
You accept sole responsibility for the legality of your actions under laws applying to you and the legality of any items you list on any of our sites.
Although we use techniques that aim to verify the accuracy and truth of the information provided by our users, user verification on the internet is difficult. If a dispute arises between you and Snaxchange, we strongly encourage you to first contact us directly to seek a resolution by contacting Customer Support, details for which are given on our website. We will consider reasonable requests to resolve the dispute through alternative dispute resolution procedures, such as mediation or arbitration, as alternatives to litigation. Any claim, dispute or matter arising under or in connection with this User Agreement shall be governed and construed in all respects by the laws of England and Wales. You and Snaxchange both agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
In simple terms, "non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts" means that if you were able to bring a claim arising from or in connection with this User Agreement against us in Court, an acceptable court would be a court located in England, but you may also elect to bring a claim in the court of another country instead. English law will apply in all cases.
General
If any provision of this User Agreement is held to be invalid, void or for any reason unenforceable, such provision shall be struck out and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
We may assign our rights and obligations under this User Agreement following the below (but without your prior express consent), if we assign the User Agreement on the same terms or terms that are no less advantageous to you.
Headings are for reference purposes only and do not limit the scope or extent of such section. Our failure to act concerning a breach by you or others does not waive our right to act concerning subsequent or similar breaches. We may amend this User Agreement at any time by email, or by posting the amended terms on www.Snaxchange.com. All amended terms shall automatically be effective 30 days after they are initially posted. Your continued use of our Services after the effective date of these amended terms constitutes your acceptance of them.

Knowing the rules for Sellers or Donors
- Prohibited and restricted items
- Listing practices
- Completing the sale
- Reporting breaches of selling policies
Knowing the rules and policies on Snaxchange can help you become a more successful Sellers or Donors. So before listing your item, make sure you read, understand, and regularly check our policies (including the rules for Sellers or Donors and the Snaxchange User Agreement and all applicable laws and regulations on the sale of your item. This can help you avoid potential problems.
Snaxchange’s policies are intended to:
- Support laws and regulations
- Minimise risks to Sellers or Donors
- Provide equal opportunity to all Sellers or Donors
- Protect intellectual property rights
- Provide an enjoyable buying experience
- Support the values of the Snaxchange Community
Make sure your listing follows our guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and your buying and selling privileges could be limited.
Prohibited and restricted items
Our policies are often based on country laws, although in some cases, they may also be based on input from our customers and our discretion, especially for dangerous or sensitive items.
Snaxchange policies cover 3 main areas – prohibited, restricted, and potentially infringing items (see also our overview of prohibited and restricted items):
- Prohibited items are not allowed to be sold on Snaxchange, often because they're illegal or involve strict federal or state regulations. Examples include any inedible and non-food items, hot food items and beverages, half-eaten or unsealed food items, or illegal items such as drugs.
- Prohibited services, which include services that are illegal or that violate the Snaxchange User Agreement
- Potentially infringing items may violate certain copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights. So, some items aren't allowed (even though they may be legal) because they often violate copyright or trademark laws. This also applies to certain types of information that appear in listings. Here are some examples:
- Replicas, counterfeit items, and unauthorized copies
- Sellers or Donors can't deny or reject any knowledge of or responsibility for the authenticity or legality of their items (see our authenticity disclaimer policy).
- You're not allowed to use other members' pictures or text (see our images and text policy).
And remember offering a prohibited, restricted, or potentially infringing item for free (rather than for sale) protect you from potential liability. This policy applies to both Sellers or Donors and buyers.
Listing practices
For a satisfying and fun experience on Snaxchange, we're helping Sellers or Donors list their items in the most effective ways possible. As general rules, Sellers or Donors must:
- Select a category that matches the item for sale.
- Provide a clear, honest, and accurate description of the item.
- Avoid tactics like keyword spamming because they make it hard for people to find what they're looking for.
Note: Your item description and terms of sale can't be included in an image. They must be in the listing hosted on Snaxchange.
It's against our policies to do anything that manipulates the search or browse experience on Snaxchange. This applies to all parts of a listing, including the title, subtitle, product details, description, pictures, links, and meta tags. If you use tactics that can inappropriately divert bidders and buyers to a listing, we'll act.
Before listing items, be sure to read our search and browse manipulation policy to learn more about our guidelines on:
- Brand names
- Categories
- Item details
- Keyword spamming
- Pictures
- Text and other information
- Titles
Other rules include not using profanity in a listing or other community pages on Snaxchange, HTML and JavaScript functions, or links outside of Snaxchange. Be sure to read our rules for listings for information on how to list and describe certain items.
It's also important to stay in good standing with Snaxchange fee payments. Sometimes Sellers or Donors try to find ways to get around paying fees or they do so by mistake.
Completing the sale
If your item sells, contact your buyer, accept their payment, and post the item.
Examples of actions that are not allowed on Snaxchange:
- Interfering with another member's transaction. For information and examples, see our transaction interference policy.
- Accepting payment and sending an item that is significantly different from the item described in the item listing. For more details, read our Sellers or Donors performance standards.
- Charging buyers an additional fee for their use of ordinary forms of payment including acceptance of cheques, money orders, electronic transfers, or credit cards. For details and examples, read our payment surcharges policy.
When something goes wrong, there are options available to you. Find out more about resolving selling problems.
Reporting breaches of selling policies
If you see a listing that breaches Snaxchange policies, please report it by clicking the Report item link in the listing, or by clicking the Contact Us link located on most of our help pages.
When a policy breach occurs, we email the Sellers or Donors and the buyer to let them know that the listing has been removed from Snaxchange.
Your participation and vigilance as part of the Snaxchange community is invaluable in helping us help you be a more successful enterprise.

1. Snaxchange Easy pay and return Guarantee
Most Snaxchange sales go without any issues, in case if there’s a problem with a purchase, the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee ensures that buyers receive the item they ordered or get their money back.
Buyers can use the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee process when:
- An item isn’t received
- An item received doesn’t match the listing description
Most Sellers or Donors work with buyers to quickly resolve issues, but if a solution isn’t reached, we can help. We work with Sellers or Donors to ensure that buyers either get the item they paid for or get their money back.
What's covered
Most transactions on www.Snaxchange.com are covered by the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee.

If the buyer isn’t happy with the Sellers or Donors’ response or doesn’t receive a response, the buyer can ask us to step in and help.

The Sellers or Donors should address the buyer’s concern and offer a solution, such as accepting a return or offering a replacement or refund.
If the buyer doesn’t receive a response or solution or returns the item but doesn’t receive a refund or replacement from the Sellers or Donors, the buyer can ask us to step in and help.
If asked to step in and help, we review the item description, photos of the item if provided by the buyer or Sellers or Donors, plus any other information about the item that the buyer and Sellers or Donors provide. If we can’t determine that the item matches the listing description, if the Sellers or Donors have already offered a return, or the Sellers or Donors stated return window and policy applies, we may ask the buyer to return the item to the Sellers or Donors.
When an item is returned to the Sellers or Donors
- The buyer must return the item in the same condition in which it was received.
- The Sellers or Donors is required to accept the return at the same location specified in the listing.
- The Sellers or Donors pays for any customs charges on the returned item.
When an item isn’t returned to the Sellers or Donors
In some cases, we may not require that an item be returned to the Sellers or Donors. In these situations, we refund the buyer and may seek to reimbursement from the Sellers or Donors if, for example:
- The Sellers or Donors chooses not to accept a return request or provide or fund a return postage label.
- The item location was misrepresented.
- It’s hazardous to post the item back.
- The item no longer has a value for example an expired food item.
Alternatively, with the buyer’s consent, we may give a partial refund to cover the differences between how the item as described in the listing and the actual item that was received. When given a partial refund, a buyer isn’t asked to return the item to the Sellers or Donors. The Sellers or Donors may be required to reimburse us for the partial refund.
Counterfeit items
If a buyer suspects that an item is counterfeit and there are strong indicators that the item is counterfeit, the buyer isn’t required to return the item to the Sellers or Donors. The buyer agrees to cooperate with us to ensure the proper disposal of the item. In such cases, we refund the buyer for the full cost of the item, and the Sellers or Donors reimburses us for the refund. The buyer may not sell the item on Snaxchange or elsewhere.
Appeals
Buyers and Sellers or Donors have an opportunity within 30 days from when we decide a transaction issue to appeal our decision by providing appropriate documentation. We have the right to seek reimbursement from the Sellers or Donors if a buyer successfully appeals.
Refunds to buyers
Refunds from Snaxchange are through PayPal. Buyers without a PayPal account are asked to create one with their Snaxchange registered email address to claim their refund. In the unlikely event when we’re unable to send refunds to a PayPal account, we may provide refunds by coupon redeemable for purchases on Snaxchange.
Sellers or Donors funds, reimbursements, and fees
Sellers or Donors funds
After a buyer reports that they didn’t receive an item or request a return, or when a buyer asks us to step in and help, a Sellers or Donors’ funds may be held by PayPal, as outlined in the PayPal User Agreement.
Reimbursements
If Sellers or Donors is required to reimburse the buyer or Snaxchange, the reimbursement amount is removed from their PayPal account, placed on the Sellers or Donors’ invoice, and/or charged to the Sellers or Donors’ payment method on file.
The Sellers or Donors is required to have a valid payment method on file and to allow us to charge any reimbursement amounts owed. We may also place the reimbursement amount on the Sellers or Donors’ invoice. You can also find further details about Reimbursement in our User Agreement.
However, in case a buyer decides to settle the transaction with the Sellers or Donors outside Snaxchange, Snaxchange will not be responsible for any reimbursements.
Sellers or Donors fees
If a Sellers or Donors issues a buyer a full refund before we’re asked to step in and help, we credit the Sellers or Donors’ final value fee. Insertion fees and other Snaxchange fees aren’t refunded.
Using other programs to address a concern
Buyers can’t use more than one resolution method to get a refund. After selecting a resolution process (Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee, PayPal Buyer Protection, or requesting a chargeback from their payment provider) a buyer is required to use that process for the duration of the case. If a buyer files a chargeback or a PayPal Buyer Protection dispute, any cases opened with Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee for the same transaction are immediately closed.
Fraudulent claims
Fraudulent claims may include:
- A buyer opening excessive requests or duplicate requests using other programmes.
- A buyer colluding with a Sellers or Donors to wrongly declare an item’s value for customs.
- A buyer filing a chargeback after receiving a refund.
Buyers who file fraudulent claims are subject to consequences outlined in the Abusing Snaxchange section of the User Agreement. Besides, we reserve the right to indefinitely suspend the buyer’s coverage under the Snaxchange Money Back Guarantee.
Other terms
- Buyers and Sellers or Donors permit us to make final decisions about all cases, including appeals.
- We may provide buyers and Sellers or Donors with access to each other's names, user IDs, contact information, and other information relating to a request.
- When a buyer and Sellers or Donors don’t speak the same language, we may assist with communication until the issue is resolved.
- Snaxchange Money-Back Guarantee is not a product warranty.
- In some situations, limited cases, we may open a request on behalf of the buyer. This may include situations in which Sellers or Donors is suspended for fraudulent activity.
We reserve the right to fix any processing errors we discover by debiting or crediting the payment method used for the incorrect refund or reimbursement
2. Unpaid item policy
Policy overview
When a buyer purchases an item, the buyer is obliged to complete the purchase by sending full payment to the Sellers or Donors.
Why does Snaxchange have this policy?
When a buyer doesn't pay for an item they've purchased, it costs the Sellers or Donors time and money and holds up inventory. The unpaid item policy helps create a safer and more successful buying and selling experience.
3. Rules about Feedback

If you're a private Sellers or Donors, you may also want to consider including a returns policy, which sets out the circumstances in which you will accept returns and any relevant timelines.

- Pictures included in a listing must show the item for sale.
- You must not include comments that discourage buyers from participating or that undermine either the buyer experience or confidence in the marketplace. For example, we don't allow statements like:

A misleading act or omission by the Sellers or Donors, which results in the buyer purchasing an item that they wouldn't otherwise have purchased, is a criminal offense in most cases. To find out more, please see the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 section of our Business Centre.

Product availability
When buyers purchase an item on Snaxchange, they should feel confident that the item is available and will be delivered in a timely matter.
What to do
You must make sure the items you’re offering are in stock for the duration of the listing and are delivered to the buyer, unless the buyer doesn't meet the terms of your listing.
For multi-quantity listings, make sure you have ready access to all the items you’re offering.
What not to do: You must not
- List an item that may be out of stock by the time of purchase
- List an item that you're simultaneously selling outside of Snaxchange without ensuring beforehand that you have enough product available
- Offer an item that may not be what's delivered to the buyer
- Offer an inflated number of items in a multi-quantity listing
What you're not allowed to charge
Insurance: Sellers or Donors aren't allowed to charge a separate fee for insurance, although they still need to make sure their item arrives as described. Business Sellers or Donors may choose to purchase postal insurance; however, they can't pass this cost onto buyers.
Tariffs, duties, and customs fees: For international transactions, Sellers or Donors aren't allowed to collect tariffs, duties, or customs fees. (Buyers may be responsible for paying these fees as required by country laws.)
- Don't inappropriately classify an item as a gift to avoid certain duties, tariffs, or customs fees. UK law prohibits submitting false or misleading customs information.
Returns
You don't have to offer a returns policy for your items unless you're a business Sellers or Donors. However, a clear returns policy can reassure potential buyers.
We encourage you to accept returns - it helps increase buyer satisfaction.
7. Prohibited and Restricted Items policy
Before listing your item, make sure it's allowed on Snaxchange and find out if there are specific rules and conditions on how it should be listed. Sellers or Donors also need to make sure that the sale of their item complies with all laws.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
Understanding the rules
Here are some basic things to keep in mind when listing your items on Snaxchange:
Our policies are often based on country and state laws, although in some cases, they may also be based on input from our members and our discretion, especially for dangerous or sensitive items
Be sure to read our policies before listing items. Follow our guidelines and review our examples so you know beforehand what you can and can't sell on Snaxchange (note that examples are not an exhaustive list).
Prohibited items
Any inedible item (non – food item) cannot be sold on Snaxchange. Sale of Alcohol is restricted to only Licensed Sellers or Donors licensed by the FSA authority and cannot be done between 11PM and 8AM.
8. Duplicate listing policy
Policy overview
Buyers need to compare different items to make a smart, informed purchasing decision. The duplicate listings policy is designed to ensure Sellers or Donors don't list in a way that clutters the buying experience and hurts the overall marketplace.
Sellers or Donors can't have more than one fixed price listing of an identical item at the same time.
Sellers or Donors can have more than one listing for identical items. However, only one listing will appear on Snaxchange at a time.
These restrictions on duplicate listings include listing an identical item in different categories or listing an identical item using different user IDs.
If your listings don't follow these guidelines, they may be ended or not displayed in the Snaxchange search results. You may also be subject to a range of other actions, including limits of your buying and selling privileges.
What are duplicate listings?
Listings are considered duplicates if they are for items that have no significant difference between them. To avoid having your listings treated as duplicates, make sure you clearly show the differences in search results by the title, price, condition, photo, subtitle, item specifics, or in the parts compatibility areas of a listing. We may also look at other parts of the listing, such as the description, to determine whether it's a duplicate.
Top tips to make sure your listings comply with the policy and have the best possible position in Snaxchange 's Best Match search results
List identical items in one multi-quantity fixed price listing.
List items with variations, such as size and colour, in one fixed price listing with variations.
Why does Snaxchange have this policy?
We want buyers to see the full range of choices available for the item they are looking for.
9. Rules for buyers
Snaxchange 's policies help to create a safe, fair and enjoyable trading environment for all Snaxchange members. As a buyer, you are responsible for reviewing and understanding Snaxchange 's policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations outlined in the User Agreement.
Make sure you follow these guidelines. If you don't you may be subject to a range of actions, including Feedback removal, limits on account privileges, and suspension of your account.
10. Rules for Sellers or Donors
Rules for Sellers or Donors – overview
Snaxchange's policies help to create a safer, fair and enjoyable trading experience for all Snaxchange members. As Sellers or Donors, you are responsible for reviewing and understanding Snaxchange's selling policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations outlined in the user agreement.
We recommend that you learn about Snaxchange’ s selling policies before you list an item. This will help you to avoid accidentally breaking rules. Also, Snaxchange's selling policies are updated often to address emerging issues, so it is important to check them regularly for changes.
Make sure you follow these guidelines. If you don't, you may be subject to a range of other actions, including limits of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
11. Read our search and browse manipulation policy
For a satisfying and fun experience on Snaxchange, Sellers or Donors should list their items in the most effective ways possible. As general rules, Sellers or Donors should:
- Select a category that matches the item for sale
- Provide a clear, honest and accurate description about the item
- Not engage in tactics like keyword spamming because it makes it hard for buyers to find what they're looking for
- When you list an item in a fixed-price format, don't create separate listings to sell multiple identical items at the same time. This violates our duplicate listings policy. Be sure to follow the policy guidelines when you list items in fixed-price format.
- There should be no comparison done of our data with other users on Snaxchange
In addition to our tips on creating effective listings, the detailed guidelines below provide more info on how you can create listings that follow the rules, and we've also described common things that you need to avoid in your listings.
It's against our policies to do anything that manipulates the search or browsing experience. This applies to all parts of a listing (see our HTML and JavaScript policy for more information). For example, the use of superscript, subscript, or other special characters (e.g., ™, ♥, ½) in the title, subtitle, item specifics, or other fields is not allowed. If a Sellers or Donors uses tactics that can inappropriately divert bidders and buyers to a listing, we'll act.
Only use item specifics to describe the item you're selling. Item specifics and other fields should only contain the information that the field is intended for. Don't use item specifics to include other information such as your terms of sale or postage details.
Make sure your listing follows our guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be ended, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account. If a listing is in the wrong category, we may move it to a more appropriate one (the listing fee may be different), or the listing may be ended.
What are the guidelines?
Brand names
You can describe an item by its brand, designer, model, product or its celebrity endorsement in a listing, if the information accurately describes what you're selling. Making a comparison or reference to a brand that is not the actual brand of the item you are selling makes it difficult for buyers to find what they're looking for
Allowed
A brand name can be mentioned in a listing, if the item is authentically branded with that brand or product name
A celebrity name can be included in a listing, if the celebrity created, officially endorsed, owned or signed the item. You can also mention celebrities if they're depicted in the item for sale, such as on posters or photos
Multiple brand names can be used, if there are items by each of those brands in the listing.
Categories
Be sure to select a category that matches the item for sale so buyers can find your listing. If it's in the wrong or inappropriate category, we may move the listing to another category (which may have a different listing fee), or the listing may be removed from our website to avoid confusion.
Item condition, specifics and details
Providing clear and accurate details about your item helps people make informed buying decisions - and they'll know what to expect when they receive your product. So be truthful and provide complete details.
Allowed
Describe only the item you have in hand and are selling
Not allowed
- Selecting product details from our catalogue that aren’t an exact match for what you're listing
- Selecting product details that are like but don’t exactly match the item for sale
- Choosing an item that doesn't match your item description, such as ’New' item condition for an item that has been used.
- Contradicting your item condition in item specifics with pictures or your item description.
- Including terms in the wrong field of your listing, such as including postage terms in the Condition description field.
- Including extra or unrelated keywords or brands in your item specifics.
- Including information that is not specific to that field, such as colour in the manufacturer part number or the brand of your item in the item specific for size.
- Using inaccurate information such as “Does not apply” or “N/A” for required product information (such as brand, UPC, or MPN) when the manufacturer has if information for your product.
Keyword spamming
Keyword spamming is when people use words or details (such as brands, item condition, model names, pop culture terms, product names, style and type) that have nothing to do with their items so that their listings will show up in search results. Since this clutters Snaxchange and makes buying and selling more difficult, we don't allow keyword spamming.
Allowed
All the words in your listing must be completely true and refer only to the item for sale
For lot listings, you can specify all the different items in the lot
Not allowed
- Calling out similarities
- Comparisons between products aren't allowed
- Descriptions that promote items in other listings
- Hiding unrelated keywords in a listing by using white-on-white text, tiny fonts or HTML or JavaScript code
- Keywords in any part of a listing that aren't related to the item you're selling
- Words with question marks If you're not sure about a detail, don't mention it at all. Doing so can be misleading
- Describing items that are used as 'Like New' or 'As New' in the title because using such terms can affect the search results for buyers looking for new items. If you want to make it clear in the listing title that your item is in excellent condition, you can use alternative wording such as 'mint condition'
Pictures
Including pictures in your listings helps buyers decide whether to purchase your item. It is thus made mandatory for the Sellers or Donors to include pictures of the product with their listings. Always provide clear and detailed pictures that truly represent your item so there's no confusion about what you're selling.
And remember: Never copy or use someone else's pictures or logos without their permission
Allowed
Pictures clearly showing the item for sale
Not allowed
- Including unrelated pictures to try to get people to look at the listing
- Picture of an item that isn't for sale
- Pictures that don't represent your item
Text and other information
When you create a listing, make sure all your text and other information are complete and consistent throughout. For example, you can't say one thing in the title and then describe it differently in the description.
Allowed
- Be specific about your terms and conditions and make sure those details are consistent throughout your listing
- Provide clear, accurate and consistent information throughout a listing
Not allowed
- Conflicting information For example, the title says the item is 'new', but the description says it 'was used'.
- Inconsistent details throughout your listing (titles, descriptions, product details, postage & packaging, payment information and so on)
- Inconsistent or unclear terms and conditions For example, you can't select free postage and packaging when you list your item if the buyer must meet conditions to make it free, such as 'free P&P applies only if you choose the Buy it now option'.
- Incorrect or incomplete information
- Misrepresenting the item for sale
Titles
Keep listing titles and subtitles clear and 100% accurate. Being honest about what you're selling helps buyers find exactly what they're looking for. Avoid giving false details just to attract people to your listing. Remember that inaccurate or misleading titles aren't allowed on Snaxchange.
Allowed
If you list multiple, different items in a listing (known as a 'lot'), you can describe each item in the title or subtitle
To be clear to buyers, you may want to state:
- the brand name associated with the item
- the quantity of items for sale
- the type of item for sale
- whether the item is new or used
Not allowed
- Confusing or unclear titles or subtitles
- Incorrect or inconsistent information
- For example: Saying 'quantity 5' in the title, but saying 1 item is for sale in the listing description
- Keywords describing bonus items cannot be included in the title
Why does Snaxchange have this policy?
We want your buying and selling experience on Snaxchange to be easy and fun. Our guidelines help you to create listings that won't break the rules or infringe upon other people's trademarks. When a listing has information that could mislead people or gives one Sellers or Donors an unfair advantage over another, we do act. Misusing item specifics or the item description can make it more difficult for buyers to find information about items they are shopping for. Make sure you follow our guidelines when you create your listings
12. Profile policy
